Is it bad that my first thought was, "But Cynthia can't pass egg moves because egg moves come from the sire"? ... Unless Cynthia turned into a male Pokemon, which could be even more kinds of kinky strange...

Nah, I do the same sort of thing (though I failed to catch it this time).

That said, female pokemon are the ones to pass on abilities (including dreamworld ones), and both genders can pass on IV's (and I bet Cynthia would have perfect or near-perfect ones if she were a pokemon).
